Your profile page on Changemakers for Children

Your profile page displays all the information about you, such as your username, you profile and banner pictures, your role and organisation, your bio, skills and interests. It also shows all your activity on the platform, the groups you've joined, the events you've enrolled in, and the topics you created.

We highly recommend that you complete your profile page, so that other members can learn more about you and get in touch with you. In this guide, we share the steps for accessing and editing your profile page.

Accessing your profile

To access your profile, click on your profile icon on the top-right and select my profile.

Once you arrive at your profile page, the first thing you will see is the Stream. It contains all your recent activity on Changemakers for Children, such as the topics and posts you created, the comments you made and the events you've joined.

Other members can use your personal stream to leave a public message to you. If you want to discuss a private matter, we recommend using the private messaging system.

The following tabs are also available on your profile page:

  • Events - displays the events you've enrolled in
  • Topics - displays all the topics you've created
  • Groups - displays all the groups you've joined
  • Discussions - displays all the discussions you've created
  • Information - shows information such as your bio, role, organisation and interests

Editing your profile

To edit your profile, either click "Edit profile" or the pencil icon on the top right of your screen:

You will be redirected to your edit profile page. The first section allows you to change your nickname, your first and last names, as well as add or replace your profile and banner images.

Changing your profile and banner image

To add a banner image to your profile page, click on Choose file under Banner image and select from your images. The recommended image dimensions for banner images are the same as in topics, events and discussions: 1200 x 423 px. If size of the image you add is different from the recommended resolution, the platform will automatically apply a crop, which you can adjust.

Click Choose file under Profile image to add a profile image. Your profile image will appear in multiple places such as the header of your profile, your posts, comments, the header menu, and the event enrollment block. The square format is ideal for profile images, and the recommended resolution is 220 x 220 px.

Remember to click save to apply your changes.

Changing your profile information

Go to Phone number and location to view and edit your role and organisation, and include details about your country, state and nationality.

Under the Self introduction, expertise and interests section, you can add a summary and an introduction about yourself. Once you click save, your updated personal details will display on your profile page under the Information tab.

Applying tags to your profile

Applying tags to your profile will help the platform moderators and other members find for your profile at the People section filtering by your organisation type, your expertise and shared interests.

Simply type your expertise or interests to add a tag, and use commas for adding multiple values. Once you click save, the tags will display on your profile page under Information.
