About this webinar
Around the world, children who cannot be cared for by their parents are often raised by grandparents, relatives or family friends. Kinship care is the most common form of alternative care worldwide, but it is also the least supported.
Over the past year, Family for Every Child has asked which policies create the conditions that support children in kinship care and their caregivers. In partnership with Lumos, we mapped the answers across 21 countries. Join us during Global Kinship Care Week 2026 for the launch of our Kinship Care Policy Brief based on the responses.
We'll share the key statistics, promising practices, policy gaps, and the five key recommendations we're calling for. We'll also show concrete examples of what's working - from Rwanda, Colombia, South Africa and the United Kingdom. We'll explore how this evidence can help us advocate for change in our own countries and on the global stage, including at the Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children in Manila this November.
This webinar will be hosted in English, with Spanish and Portuguese interpretation.
Please enrol via this event listing. At the time of the event, you will be able to join via this same page.
