This document outlines curriculum adaptations that can be made to existing state curricula in Jamaica in order to meet the needs of children with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities to realise the Ministry of Education’s strategic objective of access, equity, and relevance.
The document offers a child-centred curriculum for use with students with moderate to profound intellectual disabilities to enable them to function as independently as possible. The curriculum includes; language and communication, life skills, mathematics, physical education, and science.
