Mental Health and Emotional Well-being
About
The Mental Health Emotional Well-being Community of Practice (CoP) brings together Family members, practitioners, researchers, and advocates committed to strengthening children’s emotional well-being and family resilience. This community recognises mental health as foundational to child protection, family-based care, and long-term resilience, particularly in contexts affected by conflict, displacement, climate crises, poverty, and violence.
The CoP provides a collaborative space to:
- Share culturally grounded and trauma-informed practices
- Peering learning, sharing and strengthening capacity in mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS)
- Integrate mental health across priority themes (kinship care, sexual violence, children on the move, climate justice)
- Advance research, documentation, and global advocacy
We envision a global network driven by practitioners’ knowledge and locally led solutions, where mental health and psychosocial well-being are fully integrated into child protection and family care systems, and ensuring that every child and caregiver feels safe, connected, supported, and capable of coping with adversity.
