Hello Everyone,

As we move into a new year we at Family for Every Child are taking the opportunity to revamp our community of practice space, which we are re-titling ‘Caring for Children on the Move’. This reflects the considerable growth in members of the community as well as in its geographical and topic focus areas since its launch 3(ish) years ago.

We want to embrace and expand this diversity to be a space for all practitioners and service providers working with children on the move across the world to share experiences, knowledge and tools. While being practice-focused, our experience over the past three years has also shown this space to be relevant to programme managers, policy makers and academics in this field. All are welcome!

Please take a look at the ‘About’ section, which provides more information on our areas of focus and a handy guide on ways to engage. We need you to help us make this a vibrant and collaborative space to build support for change for children on the move, ensuring that ensuring all children are safe to live and develop, protected from harm, and can fully access their right to family care.

We are really looking forward to hearing from you on topics ranging from preventing family separation, improving integration and reintegration, supporting mental health and increasing participation of children and young people on the move. Through this space members will also receive regular updates about the activities and projects taking place within the Family for Every Child alliance in relation to children on the move.

Coming up in 2024, the space will host a series of Q&A sessions, webinars and discussions, with a specific focus on Family’s newly-published ‘Supporting Integration’ toolkit. Look out for it tomorrow!

Let's stay in touch,

Jonathan and Anne-Marie
