We are excited to announce that the 6th Biennial International Conference on Alternative Care for Children in Asia (BICON) will be held on 15 and 16 October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and online.
Since 2014, BICON has been a significant event focusing on the rights of children and young people without parental care. The conference directly cements Asia’s place in the global debates around children's rights, children in alternative care, care reform and related topics informed by those with lived care experience.
In 2023, over 300 practitioners, government actors, academics, and young people with care experience discussed children’s rights and care reform challenges in Asia. BICON is becoming a growing movement for care reform in Asia, and this movement is getting bigger, more assertive and ambitious than ever. Join us!
