From Insights to Action: A Showcase of Workforce Wellbeing Practices in Early Childhood Development and Care

Filipe Meirelles

“Be as invested in the families and professionals as you are in the children. We cannot make a lasting impact on children by skipping over the adults in the middle.”

In this webinar, we will spotlight concrete examples of how organizations, funders, and practitioners are responding to the realities shared by frontline workers. Speakers will highlight approaches that have been implemented to better support the ECD workforce, what has been tried, what is showing promise, and where challenges remain.

Building on our previous conversation exploring new research from The Two Lilies Fund and the South African Parenting Programme Implementers Network (SAPPIN) on workforce wellbeing in early childhood development (ECD) and care work, this second session turns toward solutions, practice, and change.

We will explore the tangible shifts that occur when workforce wellbeing is meaningfully prioritized: from improved support systems and supervision models, to changes in funding practices, organizational culture, and outcomes for children and families.

Together, we will reflect on what it takes to move from insight to action. What does it look like for philanthropy to invest in care in ways that are sustained, relational, and responsive? And how can funders help scale and strengthen approaches that center the wellbeing of those at the heart of ECD systems
