Family First Framework - Africa Learning Journey

Family First Framework are excited to share that AFRICA: The Framework Learning Journey kicks off on July 6th—and registration is now open!

The Learning Journey is a free, 12-session structured pathway exploring how the Family-First Framework can be used to strengthen national systems so every child can thrive in a family. This regional group for Africa creates greater opportunities for contextual learning, peer exchange, and collaboration among participants facing similar challenges and opportunities. It will run for six months, from July 6 to December 21, with two sessions per month.

Who is this for?

AFRICA: The Framework Learning Journey is designed for civil society leaders, practitioners, and non-government actors engaged in—or seeking to engage in—child protection and care reform in Africa. If that's you, we'd love for you to join us.

Dates: July 6 - December 21, 2026 (two sessions per month)
Format: 90-minute sessions via Zoom
Cost: Free
Time: 9:00 AM EST | 2:00 PM Ghana | 3:00 PM Nigeria | 4:00 PM South Africa | 5:00 PM Kenya

Participation is free and open to everyone, with different levels of engagement:

Active Participants are in-country individuals or organizations interested or already involved in care reform and strengthening systems for children and families. These individuals are kindly requested to attend and be engaged in most of the 12 sessions.
Observers are those who may not be directly involved in this work yet, but are eager to learn, connect, and explore how they can contribute.

The Learning Journey is a free, 12-session structured pathway exploring how the Framework can be used to strengthen national systems so every child can thrive in a family. Sessions are co-facilitated by global experts and regional leaders, and are designed for active engagement—not passive observation. Participation is free, but does require consistent engagement throughout the journey.
