What’s the biggest challenge facing community‑level social service workers in your context right now?

Our panel discussion on April 9th  highlighted a consistent reality across contexts:

Community‑level social service workers are essential to child protection systems, yet often operate with unclear roles, uneven training, limited supervision, and little formal recognition—especially in humanitarian settings where they may be the first or only point of support.

Insights from a multi‑country analysis and a new step-by-step guidance showed that strengthening CLSWW is most effective when approached through a child protection systems and localization lens—focusing not just on training, but also on roles, competencies, supervision, coordination, and sustainability.

Whether you could join us last week or not, your perspectives are shaping what comes next.

We’d love to hear from you:

  • What are you seeing in your context?
  • Which area of CLSWW strengthening feels most urgent?
  • What’s one step you’re already taking—or want to take?

Comment below - let’s keep the learning going!

Feel free to reply to your colleagues, in support and exploration as we work to build the capacity of our CLSSW.
