We are excited to announce that from 1 March 2026, Family for Every Child will become the host organisation of the Global Social Service Workforce Alliance (GSSWA).

This marks an important and timely step forward for our shared mission: strengthening the systems and people who support children and families worldwide.

At a moment when investment in prevention, care reform, and locally led solutions has never been more urgent, this new hosting arrangement provides GSSWA with a sustainable and values-aligned institutional home. It also reflects a strong commitment from both organisations to deepen collaboration in ways that increase global influence while remaining rooted in practitioner leadership and local realities.

This is a hosting arrangement, not a merger. GSSWA will retain its identity, brand, and Steering Committee, continuing to lead its powerful global network across more than 140 countries.

By bringing our complementary strengths together, we are positioning both organisations — and the wider sector — for greater collective impact.

Through this partnership, we will:

  • Advance locally led solutions that improve outcomes for children and families
  • Expand opportunities for peer learning, collaboration, and shared innovation across a unified global network
  • Elevate practitioner knowledge and frontline practice

For Family for Every Child, hosting GSSWA represents a natural extension of our coalition-building strategy, working alongside global partners to drive systemic change. For GSSWA, this move creates a dynamic and secure platform for future growth while safeguarding its mission and voice.

Together, we are strengthening the global social service workforce, enabling professionals, organisations, and governments to learn from one another, improve services, and deliver better outcomes for children and families everywhere.

We are ambitious about what this partnership makes possible and look forward to working with our members, partners, donors, and the wider community to shape the next chapter of impact.

GSSWA's Community on Changemakers

As part of the new arrangement, GSSWA will move their network of over 4,000 social service workers to Changemakers for Children, and we expect to welcome them over the next couple of weeks. You can learn more about GSSWA's new Community of Practice and request to join it here.
